Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a non-invasive aesthetic solution that have risen in popularity for their ability to treat a wide variety of skin conditions. These quick, easy treatments exfoliate the skin to reveal a fresh, glowing layer. Each chemical peel has it’s own unique benefits. At NIMS Medspa, we use PCA chemical peels to treat your skin’s needs.

What is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a skincare procedure that utilizes an acid-based solution to induce controlled damage and exfoliate dead skin cells. This process removes the outer layer of skin, promoting the emergence of new skin cells and ultimately leading to a smoother and more youthful appearance.
Chemical peels are effective in addressing various skin concerns, including acne scars, sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven pigmentation.

They come in different types, each with a distinct depth of penetration. Superficial, or light peels target only the outermost layer of the skin. Medium-depth peels penetrate deeper into the underlying layers. Because medium-depth peels work on a much deeper level, the recovery time can be much longer.

NoPeel Peel

The NoPeel Peel is a light peel that focuses on promoting a clear complexion. It’s a great starter peel for new clients or people that aren’t looking for a deep peel but want a wide array of benefits from their peel. The NoPeel Peel removes dirt, sweat, and other impurities in the top layers of the skin and exfoliaties dead skin cells. It’s a hydrating, calming peel that leaves you with brighter skin. It’s perfect for people with sensitive skin and it’s good for all skin types. The gentleness of the NoPeel Peel makes it the perfect peel for first-timers.

Sensi Peel

The Sensi Peel is a light peel that gently exfoliates while addressing skin issues like fine lines, wrinkles, acne, and hyperpigmentation. It’s perfect for darker skin and other sensitive skin that may not respond well to all chemical peels. This peel packs a punch with it’s anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial properties. Whether you’re looking to address specific issues or get a more even skin tone, the Sensi Peel is a versatile peel for anyone.

Ultra Peel

This moderate depth peel is designed for aging skin. It’s a little deeper than the Sensi Peel and the NoPeel Peel, reaching into the upper layers of the dermis, the second layer of skin. It aims to address deeper lines and wrinkles and brighten dull skin.

PCA Jessner Peel

This moderate depth peel comes in three different formulations and is designed to address deep wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, and nose, as well as treat acne and dullness. You can opt to get your Jessner peel with or without hydroquinone. We do recommend getting your Jessner peel without hydroquinone at first. Hydroquinone is effective in lightening the skin in certain areas to treat acne and hyperpigmentation.
The last formulation of the Jessner peel combines hydroquinone and resorcionol for maximum brightening and clearing effects in sun-damaged, uneven skin. You can also get a Jessner peel only with resorcionol if you’re sensitive to hydroquinone. Whichever formulation you pick, the Jessner peel is effective at clearing acne and treating hyperpigmentation.

Combatting
Acne
Chemical peels effectively manage acne concerns by clearing out bacteria, dirt, and unclogging pores, promoting clearer and healthier skin.
Diminishing Hyperpigmentation
Regular chemical peel sessions prove effective in fading dark spots caused by factors such as sun damage or aging, resulting in a more uniform and balanced skin tone.
Scar
Minimization
Through consistent application, chemical peels can reduce the visibility of scars, including those arising from acne or injuries, contributing to an improved overall skin appearance.
These are just a few of our favorite benefits at NIMS Medspa. Chemical peels are a remarkable long-term solution for elevating complexion and promoting enduring skin health.

Target Areas of Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a client favorite because they’re capable of addressing so many issues, including acne, rosacea, fine lines, wrinkles, and dullness. They can also benefit the neck, chest, and hands.
By targeting sagging skin and wrinkles, chemical peels contribute to firmness and heightened elasticity. Wrinkles, scars, and pigmentation spots are effectively diminished over time as chemical peels work their magic by exfoliating the top layer of skin and promoting the turnover of new cells.
